Hello Ladies and Gents… You
will have read in Keith Cain’s report that the staff
here at Brunswick Place are busily working towards
August’s 9-day blockade and a lot of the preparation
work has already been completed. The start is the
weekend beginning 28 August and it runs on until 6
September.
It was very pleasing to hear that the WCT (00750) contract will
now run until at least September 2005, which again
underlines what a slick operation we at Dial-a-Cab
have put in and how pleased the senior management at
Virgin are with our levels of service. Keep up the
good work!
Can I please remind you all of some important points that you need
to be aware of over the coming months...
* Drivers must read the terminal messages and book in correctly as
the WCWC zone will be strictly monitored to give
every member an equal chance to participate.
Please don’t book in prematurely...
* Drivers can only work one shift |
DRIVER
OPERATIONS |

in any one-day…
* Drivers must follow the dress code (smart dress). This is
very important…
* Mobile phones must be turned on during your particular shift. You
must be contactable at all times…
* If you have any problems, please contact the Call Centre or
Marshal…
* Shifts may run longer than the allocated times and drivers must
be prepared to work until the shift finishes…
* Drivers must be prepared to undertake any reasonable journey
given to them by a Marshal at any station…
* WCT operate a zero tolerance |
policy
with regard to the consumption of alcohol at all
times
before and during a working shift…
* Drivers must have their badge and bill with them at all times…
We make every effort to give all members a fair and
equal chance and the guidelines listed help to speed
up and improve the whole operation from an
administrative point of view. I’m sorry to keep
covering the same old ground, but it is a very
time-consuming and unnecessary process to check
those call signs that have been incorrectly
booked-in and it does seem to be happening on
regular basis.
Please help us to help you….And Finally…
For those of you that are about to take
your summer holidays, have a well-deserved break.
It’s not long to go to the start of the new football
season, I know I say it every year, but this could
be Chelsea’s year – besides, what’s life without
some hope!

THINKING OF GETTING A NEW CAR
…. AND WANT TO SAVE MONEY?
If you are a Dial-a-Cab driver
and looking to renew your old car for a brand new
one, well
sadly Call Sign cannot buy it for you, but we have
the next best thing; just look at the Enfield
Vehicle
Leasing ad in this issue…
Martin Collett learned his selling skills whilst working for former
DaC Board Member Phil Emden’s brother Joe selling
Ladas from his Mare Street showroom. Part of that
lesson was that if the customer is happy with the
service he gets, he or she will go back. That is
also Martin’s policy.
So whether the car you are looking for is an Audi, BMW, Merc,
Vauxhall, perhaps a new Mini or most other makes,
see the ad and give Martin a call. You have nothing
to lose, but you may well gain far more than you
think… |
