||
You will have noticed
Dial-a-Cabs coverage in The Times during the months of October, November and
December resulting from the jointly sponsored Times / Dial-a-Cab City Reception and
Receptionist of the Year Award. The award culminated at the beginning of December, when a panel of six judges, including Brian Rice and Allen Togwell, awarded Lorna Ewin of Shook, Hardy & Bacon with the accolade of City Receptionist of the Year. The reception area of M & C Saatchi was voted City Reception of the Year. "Lorna is a receptionist of the future," commented Lindsay Petrie, Regional Director of Office Angels and member of the judging panel. |
Her unflappable,
professional attitude impressed the judges enough to win her the title - and a
weekend break for two in Paris via Eurostar. Two runner-up receptionists, Lynda Hilliard
of ITN and Nicola Murphy, of Malcolm Hollis, both won a night out for two at any London
theatre of their choice. Judges found the minimalist reception area of M & C Saatchi surprisingly welcoming. It subtly reflected the attitude of the company, without becoming imposing. Partner of M & C Saatchi, Jeremy Sinclair, accepted a commemorative plaque on the companys behalf at a presentation ceremony on 8th December. |
As well as coverage from The
Times, news of the award attracted attention from TV. Lorna Ewin was interviewed on
Channel 4s The Big Breakfast by the programs presenter, Denise van
Outen. They chatted about Lornas success and mentioned Dial-a-Cab as the joint
official award sponsors. The Dial-a-Cab logo appeared on screen, being on the certificate
that Lorna was presented with at the ceremony on 8th December. Dial-a-Cabs Allen Togwell told Call Sign that the whole enterprise had been a " pleasing success both from being a part of the exercise and of course the publicity gained. We hope that this competition will be an ongoing one and that we will be involved again next year." |
