TELEPHONE MESSAGES
When leaving messages on our answer phone, please speak slowly. Apart from your actual message, it would help us a great deal if you would quote the following: Name, account number and telephone number. We do not have records of member’s call signs, so just leaving a call sign on the answer machine does not help. Again, when calling please speak slowly, this is particularly important when leaving mobile phone numbers.

NOMINATION FORM
This is the form you complete when joining the credit union and it allows us to pay your interest in the credit union to another person in the unfortunate event of your death. By interest, I mean your savings plus the life insurance money we would collect from our insurers following your death. An example of the insurance is that if a member dies with £1000 in savings, we collect a further £1000 from the insurance company making a total of £2000 to be paid out to the person nominated. So if your circumstances have changed regarding the person originally nominated, please advise us, i.e. following a divorce etc.
   I do apologise for such a ‘grey’ article in the middle of summer, I just hope that you too, will consider it good house-keeping.

One of the most colourful events in the country's calendar is set to be launched at historic Leeds Castle, near Maidstone in Kent.
   Up to thirty gigantic hot-air balloons, including a giant flying strawberry and Bertie Bassett, the liquorice man, are set to take off together on Saturday June 6th marking the beginning of a weekend celebrating Transport Throughout the Ages.
   Following a champagne breakfast comes the early morning lift-off. The balloons will be pursued by a fleet of vintage cars through the Kent countryside, while back at the castle, visitors will be able to browse around a collection of veteran bicycles.
   "This is truly one of the most remarkable events in the ballooning calendar," says Nicholas Day, Leeds Castle Marketing and Special Events Manager.
   Aerobatic displays by veteran Tiger Moth aircraft, the opportunity to chat to the balloon pilots - including Richard Branson's tutor Robin Bachelor - and an exhibition of ballooning memorabilia, add up to an exciting day for all.
   To witness the spectacle and join the fun will cost adults £6.80, OAP/students £5.30 and children between 5 and 15, £4.30. Castle admission is an extra £2 for adults and £1.50 for others. Park gates open at 6am, with all usual attractions open from 10am. Tel: 01622 765 400.
