DIAL-A-CAB DRIVER OPERATIONS

Hello Ladies and Gents…
It seems only yesterday that I was looking back on 2002, but by the time you read this article we will be into 2004. Coverage and support over what is a very difficult and stressful time out on the road has been fantastic. This year there has been more events than ever, and your service levels have been second to none – Well Done!

Battersea Park is a major success for the Society and although the Spearmint Rhino Club decided in the summer that they did not wish to pay for our Marshal services, we again proved that we can successfully combat the Unlicensed Trade.
Most of you would have helped the Marshals out at some of the many functions that were covered over the festive period and I would just like to thank you all for your great support not just in

December, but also all through the year. It goes without saying that if we didn’t all work together, these types of operation would fail. On behalf of the whole Marshal Team, thanks once again! If you have any enquiries re Marshalling during your working day, please pass them on to me and I will be only too pleased to follow up any possible leads.
The Virgin - West Coast Train work, which is the envy of all the
other Radio Circuits, is now starting again and from 3 January onwards will carry on throughout 2004 at stations that are now familiar with most of you and some even further afield. Again the operation has been a great success, long may it continue.
I would like to finally turn your thoughts to some of our members that we have sadly lost throughout the year.. I have represented the Society on a number of funerals during 2003 and it is the part of my job that I find most difficult to come to terms with. Whilst we get over a period of over indulgence and celebration, our thoughts go out to those drivers’ families and friends.
Finally, can I wish you all a very happy and prosperous New Year and in the words of Frank Sinatra: ‘We did it our way’ - The Dial a Cab Way - The best way!
