BRIAN RICE BECOMES DAC’S LONGEST SERVING CHAIRMAN

Peter Fennymore stepped down as ODRTS Chairman on 31 July 1984 after holding that position since the November 1976 AGM when taking over from Martin Gellman. But he’d have been astounded to think that another 20 years would pass before a sitting Dial-Cab Chairman beat his length of time at the helm!
   Now current DaC Chairman Brian Rice has achieved that and as of 1 August 2004, Brian became this Society’s longest-ever serving Chairman after taking over the mantle from Aubrey Siteman at the (November) 1996 AGM. Brian had only been a Board member for two years before taking over the position.
   Brian told Call Sign: "To be honest, I find it hard to believe that I’ve been Chairman for eight years let alone the longest serving! The time has just flown by and I have to say that I am proud of how well Dial-a-Cab have done over these past eight years. It has been a real team effort with everyone at Brunswick House together with all the guys out there in their taxis, pulling together to make Dial-a-Cab the number one taxi company in this country and quite probably in the whole of Europe. So this seems to be as good a time as any to offer my thanks to everyone who has assisted me over these eight years…"
